We are on the edge of some ground-breaking changes in the world.
Blackswan, the popular Kpop girl group created by DR Music, debuted in October 2020. Only a month later, one of the 5 members, Hyemi, decided to leave the group. Blackswan’s music label, DR Music, took to the media and announced in May 2021, the opportunity for anyone to join the Blackswan girl group, by holding global auditions, filling the gap that Hyemi left.
Enter Shreya Lenka, 18 year old India-native who is on the brink of change and greatness, and potentially making history! She could be the very first Kpop musical artist from India. From the global auditions, the music label has narrowed the competition down to two shining stars – but who will secure their destiny in Blackswan?! Between Gabriela Dalcin of Brazil and Shreya Lenka of Odisha, the heat is on.

Currently, the two finalists, both Shreya and Gabriela, have moved to South Korea for a month to endure grueling training and build the muscles and foundation to be a Kpop star. At the end of the one-month training, the world will see who reigns triumphant.
The News Insight revealed that Shreya was born in Rourkela in 2003 and is a classically trained dancer with roots in Hindustani and Odissi. She enjoys doing Kpop dance covers and also enjoys the calming practice of yoga.
Shreya expressed to Odisha Bytes that finding a vocal coach for her deeper voice was not an easy feat. She relied primarily on online videos and taught herself, learning western culture songs and music.
Amazing how a world-wide casting call can bring forth some amazing progression in the industry. If Shreya is to win, she will be representing India in a multi-cultural merging of music, fashion, expression and more!
We look forward to seeing how this all turns out! Blackswan is ready to emerge with its 5th member. Stay tuned!
