CEO and technological mind behind Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, is merging the real world with virtual reality in his planned metaverse project. Zuckerberg shared that he plans to build the fastest artificial intelligence supercomputer which he will incorporate into his digital world.
But what is the metaverse? According to Zuckerberg, he expressed it is the blending of reality and virtual reality, and he intends to ensure that the required “enormous” computing power is available to back it. The AI Research SuperCluster (RSC), Zuckerberg’s supercomputer, is supposedly the fifth fastest in the world, according to Zuckerberg’s Meta business. Once completed supposedly by summer 2022, it is expected to be the fastest computer of its kind. Zuckerberg expresses that “The experiences we’re building for the metaverse require enormous computer [sic] power (quintillions of operations/second!) and RSC will enable new AI models that can learn from trillions of examples, understand hundreds of languages and more.”
Mimicking the architecture of the brain, artificial intelligence is capable of processing and identifying patterns in large quantities.
Meta, Zuckerberg’s multinational technology conglomerate, shared that the fully imagined idea of the metaverse is still years away from being achieved. However, the key component is believed to be Mark’s supercomputer. It is expected that his supercomputer can translate multilingual conversations, globally. It is imagined as a hub for global, international game play, connection and another platform to expand the possibilities of expression and entertainment.
We await the excitement of a new world with Meta, Zuckerberg’s supercomputer and the metaverse.
