Bobby Brown opens up about being a sex addict, blaming his issues on childhood trauma in a new interview.
Bobby Brown, 53, is a legend in the music world. His reputation was tarnished in the 1990s when he allegedly committed domestic abuse against Whitney Houston.
In an interview for his new documentary titled Biography: Bobby Brown, the artist opens up about seeing his mother beaten by police, his friend being murdered in front of him, and being sexually abused by a priest. He also speaks about his relationship with Janet Jackson and his affair with Madonna.
Brown also admits he was a “sex addict” after acknowledging his affair with Madonna.
Brown said, “Did I sleep with Madonna? We didn’t do any sleeping. That just happened.”
“I don’t even know how it happened. I don’t believe she knows how it happened. She probably knows how it happened, but we didn’t do no sleeping.”
Brown was one of eight children. His father was a construction worker, and his mother was a substitute teacher. The family lived in Orchard Park Projects in Boston.
Brown further explained that his behavior stemmed from the trauma he endured as a child growing up in the hood.
“When my mother was arrested, I was sent to temporary custody by social services, which was supposed to be a religious place. It was not a nice place to be as a child. One of the priests tried to molest me.”
“He touched my privates, and I didn’t like that. I punched and kicked and punched some more until he got away from me.”
