Ellen DeGeneres may have accidentally announced the sex of Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney’s newborn.
On Monday, May 23, Lawrence was interviewed on the final season of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
DeGeneres began the interview by discussing the show’s end and the beginning of Jennifer Lawrence’s new life.
“People don’t know this, but I used to live in the house that you live in now when I started the show 20 years ago. Now I live next door to you, and I’m looking at you living in my house with a brand-new baby.”
DeGeneres continued, “By the way, I do hear you sometimes talking to him. I can hear you go, ‘I know!’ It’s so sweet.”
Lawrence and Maroney got married back in October 2019. The two gave birth to their first child in February.
Lawrence has already publicly stated she wants her child to have a right to privacy being born into a famous household.
Before giving birth, she said, “If I was at a dinner party, and somebody was like, ‘Oh, my God, you’re expecting a baby,’ I wouldn’t be like, ‘God, I can’t talk about that. Get away from me, you psycho!’ But every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives, as much as I can. I feel like that just starts with not including them in this part of my work.”
Throughout her pregnancy, Lawrence tried to stay away from the paparazzi. She only showed off her baby bump on red carpets and rare outings a few times.
