Grammy Award-Winning singer-songwriter, Taylor Swift, resolutely defended herself on Twitter addressing Damon Albarn’s recent interview with the LA Times. Damon Albarn, musician and lead singer of the Gorillaz, had some “hot takes” and controversial words about the vibrant “Evermore” artist.
Taylor shared a tweet which showed direct quotes about “[Albarn’s] thoughts on some of today’s chart-topping music artists.”
Damon was asked about Billy Eilish, to which he said, “I think she’s exceptional.”
When asked his thoughts on Taylor Swift, Damon responded, “She doesn’t write her own songs.”
You better believe that fired up and enraged the hard-working entrepreneurial and talented genre-bending musical artist, Swift.
Like quicksilver, Taylor barked back and tweeted, “I was such a big fan of yours until I saw this. I write ALL of my own songs. Your hot take is completely false and SO damaging. You don’t have to like my songs but it’s really fucked up to try and discredit my writing. WOW.”
You go girl! Way to hold your ground and defend your honor.
Damon tried to respond saying that his interview was reduced to “clickbait,” however that quickly was refuted as man came to Swift’s defense.
In a man’s world, Taylor sure knows how to stand up for herself. It is reassuring to see that there are many others who will come to the defense of someone, especially when it comes to defending one’s honor and upholding the TRUTH.
Keep on, keeping on Taylor Swift. We appreciate what you’re doing!
