Jennifer Lopez is seen breaking down in the upcoming Netflix documentary, Halftime.
In the trailer released Wednesday, Lopez is seen crying in bed after realizing she was not nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Hustlers.
The actress and singer hoped to be nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 2020 awards ceremony but was overlooked.
The nominations were Laura Dern, Kathy Bates, Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, and Margot Robbie, and the Oscar went to Dern for Marriage Story.
“It was hard. I just had a very low self-esteem,” Lopez said.
Adding, “I had to really figure out who I was and believe in that and not believe in anything else.”
It’s not a secret that Lopez struggles with self-doubt like many other celebrities. In 2018, she told The Post, “Everybody was like, ‘She can’t sing. She can’t dance. She can’t act. She’s just a pretty face, or her butt is big,’ or whatever they were saying about me. I started thinking, ”Yeah, that’s true,’ and it really hurt me for a long time.”
“Despite the hurt and the pain, I just kept going. I just couldn’t allow myself to let that become who I was.”
Halftime, which reflects on JLo’s career, will premiere on June 8 at New York’s Tribeca Festival before its Netflix release on June 14.
