Kelly Clarkson Struggles To Navigate Privacy And Songwriting After Her Divorce

Following Kelly Clarkson’s divorce from Brandon Blackstock in March, she’s admitting it’s hard to know how much to share with her fans.

While gearing up to release new music, she’s battling between expressing her emotions and keeping her family life private.

“It’s been the hardest thing to navigate,” she said on The Global Chart Show with Brooke Reese. “I’ve never had this difficult of a project. It’s one of those things where I’m a human and I’m going through something huge. Obviously, everybody knows, like, a big, huge divorce I went through.”

Clarkson expressed that having children adds “a whole different dynamic” to the situation. The ex-couple share two children, River, 8, and Remington, 6.

Although writing has always been a way for her to release and express herself, she says, “I mean, I have to be completely honest, but that’s a hard thing to navigate, right? Because it’s in the public eye, and there’s other people involved.”

She’s still figuring out what to share, but she says, “It’s coming. I just gotta get my crap together.”
