Rihanna wasn’t in attendance at the Met Gala 2022, but she was honored with a marble statue at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
The goddess replica now lives among over thirty thousand works of the Museum’s Greek and Roman art collection and is modeled after her cover photo for Vogue’s May issue.
The Umbrella singer, expecting her first child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky, went to Twitter to thank the museum and Vogue magazine for paying her tribute.
She tweeted a video of the statue, which shows off her baby bump.
“Shut down the met in marble! what’s more gilded than that? Lol! Thank you for this historic tribute! y’all bad for this one,” she wrote.
Vogue took to Instagram to share the news as well, stating, “The statue of “Eirene (The Personification of Peace)” is usually the highest-profile marble goddess @themetmuseum Greco-Roman galleries. But now we’ve got @badgalriri, straight off this month’s Vogue cover.”
