On Friday, July 1, Ricky Martin was hit with a restraining order.
His representative made a statement Saturday morning, saying, “The allegations against Ricky Martin that led to a protection order are completely false and fabricated. We are very confident that when the true facts come out in this matter, our client Ricky Martin will be fully vindicated.”
A local judge in Puerto Rico issued the order on Friday, noting that the accuser went straight to the court and bypassed the police.
“Up until now, police haven’t been able to find him,” Axel Valencia, spokesman for local authorities, said.
A local newspaper reported that Martin and the alleged victim dated for several months and went separate ways earlier this year.
Martin came out as gay in 2010 and married Jwan Yosef in 2017. As of now, it’s unclear if Yosef filed the restraining order or one of Martin’s paramours. Martin and Yosef share four children, twins Valentino and Matteo, 14, Lucia, 3, and Renn, 2.
