The American Cancer Society celebrated its 35th Annual Moonlight Gala with celebrities and crypto entrepreneurs in attendance, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Gigi Hadid, FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried and NFT entrepreneur Roy Nachum.
The event features a live auction, which started with real estate developer Patrick Carroll pledging $1 million if the audience could collectively match it.
FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried was the first to donate $250,000. Once the pot was up to $900,000, Carroll raised his pledge to $1.5 million.
DiCaprio donated the $50,000 left to reach the $1.5 million while also winning the Casa Cipriani Presidential Suite Staycation for $30,000.
The most significant donation of the night came from MegaMoon Museum’s Michael Cayre and NFT entrepreneur Roy Nachum who raised a total of $7 million combined.
