Madonna Responds To Backlash Over Her Nude NFT

Madonna, 63, created three NFT videos for charity featuring an animated version of the singer nude with her legs spread.

The Like A Virgin singer responded to the backlash, saying she’s “doing what women have been doing since the beginning of time.”

The Mother of Creation collection features three videos where Madonna has her legs spread while butterflies, trees, robot centipedes, and flowers emerge from her vagina.

Some people on Twitter have called the pop star “creepy” and “desperate for attention.”

In an interview with the digital artist, Mike Winkelmann, Madonna said, “I’m doing what women have been doing since the beginning of time, which is giving birth.”

“But on a more existential level, I’m giving birth to art and creativity, and we would be lost without both,” she continued.

“I think it’s really important that a lot of thought and conversation went into creating these videos.”

She continued to discuss the vision, stating, “I say we need a forest with creepy crawly bugs coming out of me. Not often does a robot centipede crawl out of my vagina.”

“My journey through life as a woman is like that of a tree. Starting with a small seed, always pushing against the resistance of the Earth. The endless weight of gravity.”
