Influencer Lele Pons went to her 48 million Instagram followers to share a body-positive message.
Pons shared a photo of herself in a bikini and began the caption with, “Embrace your cellulite.”
According to the Cleveland Clinic, the post, which received over 1 million in three hours, discusses a common skin condition that 80 to 90 percent of women will form at some point in their lives.
She continued her caption, “i’ve always been super insecure when it comes to my cellulite! i try to hide it as much as i can and edit them out…. But today im not gonna do it! This is my natural self. Who cares if others judge… Embrace who you are and be confident.”
Fans were supportive in the comments section. One fan wrote, “We need to accept each other for our true selves and feel comfortable in our own skin. Lele really shows self empowerment, this is a great bold statement and a confidence booster. I AM HERE FOR IT.”
Pons, like many celebrities, are leaders in body positivity.
In March, Riverdale star Lili Reinhart posted to Twitter, saying, “you don’t need a flat or perfectly toned stomach to wear a crop top. “These “summer body” trends are toxic. Your body is ready for summer no matter what it looks like. Don’t let it stop you from enjoying anything.”
Actress and comedian Mindy Kaling also took to Instagram wearing bikini to remind people, “IDK who needs to hear this but… WEAR A BIKINI IF YOU WANT TO WEAR A BIKINI. You don’t have to be a size 0.”
