Liam Payne was a guest on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast and threw tons of shade at former bandmates of One Direction.
He talked about which bandmate he hated, their beef with Justin Bieber, and why he disagrees with Zayn Malik’s actions.
Payne talked about how each band member acted during their time together. “In particular, a couple of them [were rowdy], yeah… Louis was wild, and he wanted to be wild, and that’s his spirit, and also he’s my best mate now, but in the band, we hated each other.”
When it came to Zayn Malik, Payne also had a few things to say.
“If I had had to go through what he went through… through his growth and whatever else… my parents are overly supportive to the point where it’s annoying at times… and Zayn had a different upbringing in that sense,” he said. “You can always look at the man for where he is and say, ‘oh yeah, whatever, that guy’s a dick, right?’ But at the end of the day, once you understand what he’s been through to get to that point and also whether or not he actually wanted to be there… I can’t sit here and dick on him because of whatever and listen, I don’t agree with any of his actions. I can’t commend some of the things that he’s done. I can’t be on his side for that.”
As for Justin Bieber, Payne said he would head to his hotel after showers and get “absolutely wasted.” One night he was on Instagram Live when a fan compared him to Justin Bieber. He became enraged by that comment. “I wasn’t even meaning to offend him, I wanted to offend them [the person who made the comparison]… and I was like, ‘the only thing between me and him is I haven’t been arrested.”
