Loren Gray Shares ‘You Did Not Break Me’ TikTok For Sexual Assault Awareness

TikTok star Loren Gray has been open about her own experience with sexual assault and now is trying to raise awareness with her newest TikTok for the “You Did Not Break Me” campaign.

The video features Sia’s famous song Elastic Heart, which has become an anthem for sexual assault survivors.

Gray, who has 54 million followers on TikTok, opened up about her sexual assault in May 2020: “I had my innocence stolen from me in the basement of someone I trusted,” she told People magazine.

“I struggled to put the pieces together as to why this had happened to me. It took two months for me to finally tell my parents. I felt dirty, hopeless, broken, and worthless. I was confused and scared. I felt like it was my fault.”

Today, she joins the movement that has accumulated over 65,000 videos on TikTok. Her TikTok video is captioned, “Some days are harder. #saawareness”

At the beginning of her video, she writes, “Let’s be clear I trust no one…” and then shares flashes of several news articles concerning her sexual assault. She ends it with “I’m still fighting for peace” and a video of her breaking down in tears.
