The family of TikTok star Miranda Derrick believes she has been kidnapped by a cult

The family of TikTok star Miranda Derrick believes a cult in Los Angeles has kidnaped their daughter. They released a now-viral video to discuss the matter.

Her parents, Kelly and Dean Wilking, say they have not been able to contact their daughter since January 2021 after she refused to go to her grandfather’s funeral.

“It’s been haunting us for over a year now,” her sister said in the video. “It’s definitely been the hardest year of my life.”

Miranda, 24, moved to Los Angeles last year to join a management company called 7M Films, which has ties to Shekinah Church and a sect of Christianity known as the Seven Mountain Mandate.

A spokesperson for 7M Films said, “The false and sensational allegations about 7M stem directly from a dispute between 7M-represented dancer Miranda Derrick and her estranged family. Despite her family’s claims, Miranda is a successful businesswoman and a loving wife and daughter who cares very much about her family. It is pathetic and contemptible to try to turn her private family matters into a tawdry public scandal for clicks and clout. While the recent portrayals of Dr. Robert Shinn and 7M Films have been wildly offensive and riddled with inaccuracies, those false claims will not deter 7M from supporting Miranda in whichever endeavors she chooses to pursue next.”

Her mother urged followers on Instagram to understand the situation, “If you ever ever asked what is the most important thing in life, she would say her family. So to cut everybody off, you would have to go back and say if you were willing to cut everybody off, if this is your decision, who altered your thinking for that to be something you want?”

Her family believes she has been brainwashed, and Miranda’s sister, Melanie, uses TikTok to spread the word. She believes Miranda has “no control over her social media” and that the church also controls Miranda’s finances.

Miranda and her husband, James Derrick, responded to the allegations on Instagram, stating that the first strike was when Miranda had been revoked access to the sisters’ shared TikTok account. Then completely stopped communication with her family due to them calling the cops on James, an African-American man, when she moved in with him.

The family has denied the claims of disliking James for his race.
