TikTok star Cooper Noriega died at the age of 19.
On Thursday evening, Noriega was found unconscious in a Burbank parking lot and pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy still needs to be done to determine the cause of death.
Only hours before Noriega’s death, he posted an ominous message on social media. He shared the post to TikTok, which featured a selfie of him on the bed with the caption, “who else b thinking they gon d!€ young af.”
Noriega has over 1.7 million followers on the platform. Earlier this week, Noriega went to social media to share his announcement of creating a Discord to discuss mental health with his fans.
“If you’re really into getting your emotions out, or whatever, come join,” he said. “I created.. because of how much I love you guys and how much I struggle with it myself.”
In a separate post on Instagram, he said, “I would like to use the influence I’ve been given to create a space built on spreading awareness and normalizing talking about mental illness. One of the many things I’ve learned while struggling with addiction was that surrounding yourself with negative people will only bring you down.”
His family is now accepting donations via GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.
The organizer wrote, “Cooper had many many goals for himself… his dream to help people with mental health and addiction… open a rehab center.” He concluded with, “You will be missed dearly cooper, you are so loved! May you be at peace.”
